MEL BLAZER
I have functioned in two broad areas of business: 1) my individual efforts where success included commissions or a fee for service, and
2) coordinating and managing the collective efforts of a group to achieve organizational goals. Success was achieved in both arenas.
For 20 years I functioned successfully in sales and sales management for large, mid-size, and small companies where effective time management meant income for both the organization and individuals. My positions ranged from sales representative to National Sales Manager. Scheduling appointments, meeting with customers, developing leads, writing proposals, coaching and training sales people, helping sales staff resolve crises, developing marketing plans . . . these are just a few of the many facets of my work in both individual and collective use of time and talent.
Since 1984, I have contracted with:
- PATH Management
- The American Management Association
- Chrysler Corporation
- Pinnacle Performance Group
- Rockhurst University
- Continuing Education Center, Inc

As an independent contractor, I managed all facets of being self-employed while at the same time delivering more than 2900 single and multiple day training sessions throughout the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, and Mexico.
My training expertise allows me to cover a wide range of topics, with particular emphasis on time management, management, leadership, conflict resolution, customer service, sales, negotiation, legalities in the workplace, interviewing, as well as interpersonal relationships and communication in business. Participants include employees, managers, and executives from corporations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the military. This means I manage large amounts of data and material for presentation, consult with clients to determine their specific needs, and then tailor material to suit their unique situations.
For 28 years as an Independent contract trainer, I have traveled 4-8 times per week, 47 weeks a year. While doing so I have worked with an average of ten different clients per month. During this time I've managed my business, conducted training sessions, arranged travel, followed up with both clients and training organization, and marketed my services.
Managing multiple priorities, scheduling, good communications, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, handling crises and unexpected interruptions are among the skills necessary to manage my professional responsibilities and personal business successfully. Extending my knowledge and skill to others through training and coaching have allowed me to influence more than 90,000 people to be more productive and effective in their work and personal lives.
